During the pandemic, the Northville DDA looked outside the box to introduce outdoor dining and gathering structures. The 2 types of modular structures in the downtown Social District began in December 2020. The Pods provided covered spaces for consuming food and beverages at a bar-height table. The Stands were available for local restaurants to prepare and/or serve food. Both Pods and Stands were equipped with electric overhead heaters and lighting.
The Social District has drawn people into downtown and helped businesses better deal with the challenges of the COVID-19 and post pandemic years. Now that those days are behind us, only two stands remain in Town Square for public use during non-event weeks.
